ACG Otaku Meet Plus

Today, ACG staff organized a special event. This is the biggest otaku meet that ACG had organized so far and hopefully not that last big otaku meet. This otaku managed to gather quite a crowd of anime fans and gamers alike. I do say it was pretty successful and everyone had a great time.

This event was held at Woo’s Buffet at Younge and Dundas in wonderful downtown Toronto.

At around 5PM, everyone just entered suddenly till the room was pretty full. A good 36 people attended the event.

Everyone quickly seated and the event started. Once the event started, everyone went for the food!!!

The room is up to capacity with every chair filled with the guests.

During the event, we had a small tournament going. Our Game Master set up a small Blazblue tournament for Xbox 360 on the main screen. There were prizes given out to the winner of the tournament.

We had two Xbox 360s for the event. One was used for the tournament and the other Xbox was used for free play for such games like Street Fighter 4 and Call of Duty World at War. Latter we switched to the Nintendo Wii for some Super Smash Brawl free play.

Some people even brought their own figures along!!!

By now, Tekken 6 was being played after the tournament was done.

Around the time Tekken was being played, I was hosting Name That Tune. We had a good turn out, I just need to keep a reminder to put in extremely easy songs next time.

Everyone seems to be enjoying themselves!!!

At around this time, half of the people left due to school the next day or work. The other half stayed all the way to the end.

The event also had a raffle. The prize was Smoke Cheese. It’s not really Smoke Cheese but a package of Nyoro~n Churuya-san that contains a small nendoroid of Churuya-san and a manga. We had four things for raffle in total. The other prizes where two gift certificate to Woo’s Buffet and a poster from Kuroshitsuji.

When Domo-kun attacks. It goes after the girls in Gothic Lolita.

Domo finally settled down and the Lolita contest began. The price for this one was a Miku Nendoroid.

Attemped at MOE MOE KYUN!!! The meaning came from maid cafes in Japan in which maid do MOE MOE KYUN with their guest and at that time get a picture taken with them.

Domo feels sad, finding out one of them is a guy…ahhh…

Like with all events, it must end. The meet was successful. Everyone says their byes and left. The restaurant is now pretty empty and most of the restaurant staff are cleaning up and getting ready for closing. Us staff packed up with the help from some helpers and left.
